WINTER

This season is a time for rest and reflection with recipes for warmth and comfort.

The following list includes common herbs, vegetables and fruits that are seasonal in the Northeast coast of the U.S. in winter.

Most of our food in this region is available from storage, as very little grows during cold and snowy months. The nutrient rich contents of sturdy leaves like kale, collard greens, roots and tubers are unlocked through cooking - soups, stews, and braises keep us healthy and warm during this cold season.
